As you torque a bolt, friction will cause the fastener to bind to whatever it is being tightened to. This can lead to the bolt stretching further than recommend and weakening it. Adding ARP’s torque lube prior to tightening bolts, studs, or fasteners will prevent them from bonding and stretching unevenly. This allows for an even preload distribution to reach recommenced tensile strength.
