This genuine GM torque converter housing (bell housing), part number 29549481, is for the Allison 1000 transmission behind the 6.6L Duramax LMM, LML and L5P. It replaces GM 29544823. The housing has no provision for the input speed sensor, so it will NOT work on models that use the speed sensor in the bell housing. A replacement housing is needed when the original is cracked, has damaged bolt bosses or threads, or is worn where the converter and front pump seal seat.

Does my truck use the speed sensor in the bell housing?
2001-2007 Classic trucks with the Allison 1000 use a converter housing with a speed sensor boss. This housing does not have one. If your old housing has a speed sensor mounted in it, use the correct housing listed in Fitment below.

Does it come with gaskets and seals?
No. Order the Converter Housing Reseal Kit to reseal the housing to the transmission.

Fits the Allison 1000 transmission in 2007.5-2019 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD with the 6.6L Duramax LMM, LML or L5P. Not for 2020 and newer trucks with the 10-speed 10L1000.
