Replacement freeze plug located on the cylinder head of a GM Duramax 6.6L V8 vehicle built between 2001 and 2016.
An essential part of your engine, freeze plugs or "expansion plugs", keep the coolant in your engine from leaking out. If neglected a failing freeze could potentially leak coolant from your engine to the point where it can no longer effectively cool your engine. Doing so would lead to overheating and extensive damage.
