Whether you need to replace faulty fuel injectors in your Duramax or you simply want to upgrade your factory injectors, there are specialty tools and parts you should replace along the way. The Merchant Automotive Deluxe Fuel Injector Install Kit has them in one box for 2001-2004 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD trucks with the LB7 6.6L Duramax diesel. At Merchant Automotive, we are all about creating solution-based kits that make working on your truck easier.

This deluxe kit contains all of the parts we recommend replacing when switching out your fuel injectors, including new high pressure injector lines, valve cover gaskets and bolts, injector seals, cup O-rings, return line seals and bolts, and fuel and oil filters. We have also included the specialty tools you need to remove and replace your injectors, to save you a trip to the auto parts store. The kit does not include injectors, so you can use the injectors of your choice. Check out our LB7 fuel injectors.

Signs of Bad Fuel Injectors in a Duramax

When your Duramax powered truck starts to run rough, there are many culprits to investigate. Signs of dirty, clogged or malfunctioning fuel injectors include hard starting, rough idle, poor performance, increased fuel consumption and engine surging. It can often be difficult to diagnose malfunctioning fuel injectors on your own, so you may need a local shop to test your injectors for proper performance.

Installation Tips

  • Replace every injector seal and cup O-ring when installing the injectors.
  • Clean the injector bores before installing the new seals.
  • Use the included red threadlocker and RTV silicone as directed during reassembly.
  • Install new seals on the upper radiator pipe and heater pipe when they are removed for access.
  • Prime the fuel system and check for fuel and coolant leaks before driving.

What is the difference between the Deluxe and Basic kits?
The Basic Injector Install Kit has the gaskets and seals for the job. The Deluxe kit adds the specialty tools, new high pressure injector lines, valve cover bolts, heavy duty return line bolts, a filter head rebuild kit, fuel and oil filters and more.

Does this kit fit the LLY or later Duramax?
No. It fits the 2001-2004 LB7 Duramax only.
