Lower Valve Cover Gasket, LB7 Duramax | 2001-2004

This lower valve cover gasket is for the 6.6L Duramax LB7 and replaces GM 97188896. It seals the lower valve cover to the cylinder head. On the LB7 the lower cover comes off for injector work, so this gasket gets disturbed every time the injectors are replaced. An old, hardened gasket is a common source of oil seepage down the side of the engine.

Will this fit my LLY or later Duramax?
No. The 2004.5 and newer engines use a different lower valve cover gasket. See the Fitment section below.
