The genuine GM 12629741 oil pump screen seal seals the oil pickup screen tube to the oil pump on the 6.6L LML and LGH Duramax. It fits 2011-2016 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD trucks and 2010-2016 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana vans. The pickup draws oil from the pan under suction, so a hard, cracked or pinched seal lets the pump pull in air instead of oil. That can cause low or fluctuating oil pressure and starve the bearings. Always install a new seal any time the oil pan, pickup screen or oil pump is removed.
