GM Engine Oil Pump, Duramax | 2011-2016

This is the genuine GM engine oil pump (GM 12644591) for the 2011-2016 LML 6.6L Duramax and the LGH Duramax in Express and Savana vans. It's a crankshaft-driven gear pump with an aluminum housing, mounted at the front of the engine, and it supplies oil pressure to the entire engine. It replaces the earlier GM number 12632219.

Benefits

Oil pressure starts at this pump, so a worn pump shows up as low pressure readings, especially hot at idle. Because the pump sits behind the front cover area, it's usually replaced during front-end engine work or a rebuild rather than as a stand-alone repair. Replace if worn or damaged.
