The Lisle 22110 Flywheel Lock holds the flywheel in place at the transmission so you can break loose and torque the harmonic balancer bolt without pulling the starter. It fits 2001-2019 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD pickups with the 6.6L Duramax diesel and the Allison automatic transmission. It is the go-to tool for a Duramax water pump job, where the balancer has to come off.

How to Use
- Remove the spring-loaded metal inspection plate on the bottom of the transmission.
- Slide the tool in toward the engine until the top of the tool engages the flywheel teeth.
- Loosen or torque the harmonic balancer bolt with a 36mm 12-point socket.
- Remove the tool and reinstall the inspection plate when the job is done.

Do I have to remove the starter to use this tool?
No. The tool goes in through the inspection opening on the bottom of the transmission, so the starter stays in place.
Does it fit trucks with the ZF6 manual transmission?
No. This tool is made for Duramax pickups with the Allison automatic transmission.
Does it fit 4500 and 5500 trucks?
No. 4500 and 5500 trucks use a different inspection opening and need a different lock. This tool is for 2500HD and 3500HD pickups.
Should I replace the balancer bolt?
Many technicians replace it during a water pump or balancer job. We carry the Crankshaft Balancer Bolt, Duramax.
