Allison 1000 Dipstick Tube Seal, Duramax | 2001-2019

This is the transmission dipstick (fluid filler tube) seal for the Allison 1000 behind the 6.6L Duramax LB7, LLY, LBZ, LMM, LML and L5P. It replaces GM 29536834 and seals the tube where it enters the transmission case. When the seal hardens or is disturbed during transmission work, fluid can seep at the tube and the tube can work loose. A new seal restores a tight fit for a few dollars.

Benefits

The dipstick tube often comes out during transmission removal, pan or filter service, or engine work. Replacing the seal whenever the tube is removed keeps fluid from seeping down the side of the transmission, where it can be mistaken for a leak at the pan or the cooler lines. Frequently Asked Questions

Will this fit the 10-speed?
No. This seal is for the Allison 1000 (5-speed and 6-speed) through 2019. 2020 and newer trucks with the 10L1000 10-speed are not covered.

Can I reuse the old seal?
We don't recommend it. An old seal often hardens, takes a set and won't hold the tube tight once it's been removed.

Fits the Allison 1000 transmission in these trucks with the 6.6L Duramax LB7, LLY, LBZ, LMM, LML or L5P:

• 2001-2019 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500HD
• 2001-2006 Silverado and Sierra 3500, and 2007 3500 Classic
• 2007-2019 Silverado and Sierra 3500HD, including cab and chassis
