Water Pump Kit with Cover and Seals, L5P Duramax | 2017-2025

This water pump kit replaces the water pump on the 6.6L L5P Duramax in 2017-2025 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD trucks. We assemble it so the pump, the seals and the tool the job calls for come in one box, and you aren't stuck waiting on a missing O-ring halfway through the repair. It includes a water pump assembly with the housing, the water pump to front cover seal, the thermostat bypass pipe gasket and O-ring, and a flywheel lock.

Note: The crankshaft balancer bolt has to be removed to replace the water pump. The factory bolt is a one time use bolt and must be replaced. It is not included.

Signs of a Failing Water Pump

• Coolant leaking from the weep hole or around the pump
• A loose or wobbling water pump pulley
• Overheating
• A whining or grinding noise from the front of the engine

Before You Order

• The crankshaft balancer bolt and coolant are not included.
• The included flywheel lock is listed for 2001-2019 trucks. If you have a 2020 or newer truck, check that it fits your transmission before you start the job.

Does this kit fit my 2001-2016 Duramax?
No. This kit fits the 2017-2025 L5P. Earlier trucks use a different water pump.

Does the water pump come with the housing?
Yes. The pump comes as an assembly with the housing.

Do I need a new crankshaft balancer bolt?
Yes. The balancer bolt has to come out for this job, and the factory bolt is a one time use bolt, so plan on a new crankshaft balancer bolt.

What is the flywheel lock for?
It holds the engine from turning while you loosen and torque the crankshaft balancer bolt.

Will the flywheel lock fit my 2020 or newer truck?
The flywheel lock is listed for 2001-2019 trucks. Check that it fits your truck's transmission before you start.
