The Turbocharger Coolant Pipe Banjo Seal seals the banjo fittings where the coolant feed and return pipes connect to the turbocharger on 2004.5-2016 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD trucks and 2006-2016 Express and Savana vans with the 6.6L Duramax diesel. GM catalogs it as the turbo coolant feed and return pipe gasket. It replaces GM 97373522.

This seal is sold individually. Two seals are needed to service one vehicle.
Why Replace It
Banjo seals crush when the banjo bolt is tightened and are made to seal only once. A reused or worn seal can let coolant seep from the turbo coolant pipes, leaving crusty residue on the turbo or a slow coolant loss. Replace these seals any time the turbo coolant pipes are loosened or removed.
Installation Tips
- Clean the banjo fitting and the sealing face on the turbo before installing new seals.
- Make sure the old seal did not stick to the fitting or the turbo.
- Tighten the banjo bolt to factory torque specs. Do not overtighten.
- Top off the coolant and check for leaks after the engine reaches operating temperature.
