This up pipe to EGR gasket, GM part number 98065519, seals the joint between the exhaust up pipe and the EGR cooler bypass on 2011-2016 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD trucks with the 6.6L LML Duramax. The joint carries hot exhaust gas into the EGR system, so a burned or blown gasket leaks exhaust and soot under the hood. It can also cause a ticking noise and EGR flow codes. Always use a new gasket any time the up pipe, EGR cooler or turbo is removed.
