This intake valve replaces GM part number 97366945 (now superseded by 12638805) in the 6.6L Duramax diesel, from the 2001 LB7 through the 2016 LML, including Express and Savana vans and Kodiak and TopKick medium-duty trucks. It is built to the factory dimensions: a 1.299 in head, a 0.274 in stem and a 4.89 in overall length. A bent, burned or worn valve causes low compression, a misfire and hard starting. When a cylinder head is apart for a rebuild, valves with worn faces or stems should be replaced. Each Duramax cylinder uses two intake valves, so a full engine takes 16.
