This is the Planetary Thrust Washer for a GM NP246, NP261HD, NP263HD, NP261XHD or NP263XHD transfer case found in 2001 to 2007 GM Duramax vehicles as well as some 1998 to 2007 GM half ton trucks and SUVs. A Planetary Trust Washer is located on each side of the planetary assembly where it is installed on the input shaft.
NOTE: Two are required for each transfer case.
While the transfer case is disassembled to replace the Planetary Thrust Washers, it is a good time to inspect the transfer case for the dreaded “pump rub” issue and upgrade to the Merchant Automotive Transfer Case Pump Upgrade to ensure a long and healthy transfer case life.
