Duramax Crankshaft Pin Kit

Repair a damaged crankshaft alignment pin without removing the crankshaft or machining a keyway with the Duramax Crankshaft Alignment Pin Repair Kit. Designed to address factory harmonic balancer alignment pins that can shear under high-RPM operation, this kit provides a practical repair solution for restoring proper harmonic balancer alignment while keeping the engine installed in the vehicle.

The repair requires only the removal of the radiator and intercooler for access. After extracting the broken factory alignment pin, the harmonic balancer is repositioned 180 degrees from its original pin location. The included drill jig guides the drilling of a new hole approximately 3/4" to 1" deep, allowing the hardened roll pin to be installed. The harmonic balancer is then secured using the OEM crankshaft bolt and washer, tightened to factory torque specifications.

Key Features

  • Repairs sheared harmonic balancer alignment pins
  • Addresses alignment pin failures associated with high-RPM operation
  • Allows repairs without removing the crankshaft from the engine
  • Eliminates the need to machine a crankshaft keyway
  • Can be installed with the engine remaining in the vehicle
