We recommend replacing a worn stator bushing in Allison 1000 Transmissions because they can cause poor TCC lockup.
Anytime you rebuild an Allison transmission, make sure you carefully inspect all the bearings. A worn stator support bushing can cause leakage in the TCC circuit and could cause premature converter failure. The 2001 models are extremely prevalent to bushing wear and should always be replaced upon teardown.
