Engine Oil Cooler Seal, Duramax | 2001 - 2026

This engine oil cooler seal replaces GM part number 97216175 on the 6.6L Duramax diesel. It covers every Duramax generation from the 2001 LB7 through the current L5P in Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD trucks, plus 2006-2016 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana vans and 2003-2006 Chevrolet Kodiak and GMC TopKick medium-duty trucks. It seals an oil passage at the engine oil cooler. A hardened or flattened seal can let oil seep out at the cooler, or let oil and coolant mix if the cooler is not sealed properly. Always install new seals any time the oil cooler is removed.
