Transfer Case Mounting Stud, HD XHD NP246 | 2001-2007

This is the replacement stud that attaches the transfer case to the transmission on 2001-2007 GM trucks with the 261HD, 263HD, 261XHD, 263XHD or NP246 transfer case. It replaces GM 12470962 and is item A8 in the exploded view. Studs with stretched or damaged threads, or studs that pull out of the adapter when the transfer case is removed, should be replaced before the case goes back on.

The transfer case mounting studs hold the full weight and torque load of the transfer case against the transmission adapter. A damaged stud can keep the case from seating flat, which leads to leaks at the adapter gasket or nuts that won't hold torque. Replace if worn or damaged. Is this sold individually?
Yes. Each order is one stud. Order as many as you need to replace.

Do I need new nuts too?
The mounting nuts are serrated and should be replaced if they're damaged. Our Transfer Case to Transmission Mounting Nut Kit includes them.

Fitment

Fits the 261HD, 263HD, 261XHD, 263XHD and NP246 transfer cases in 2001-2007 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra with the 6.6L Duramax LB7, LLY or LBZ (Classic body), mounting the transfer case to the transmission. Not for 2007.5 and newer trucks with the MP1226 or MP1626 transfer case.
