GM Crankshaft Sensor Exciter Ring, Duramax | 2006-2016

This is the genuine GM crankshaft position sensor exciter ring, also called a reluctor or tone ring (GM 98002136), for the 2006-2016 6.6L Duramax. The crankshaft position sensor reads this toothed steel ring to tell the engine computer exactly where the crankshaft is, which sets injection timing. GM requires programming or a setup procedure after installation.

Benefits

This ring is often damaged when a crankshaft fails, and any flaw in its teeth can cause running problems even after the rest of the engine is repaired. Replace if worn or damaged. Fits 2006-2016 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500 with the LLY, LBZ, LMM or LML Duramax, including 2007 Classic body trucks. Also fits 2006-2016 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana 2500 and 3500 vans, 2009-2016 Express and Savana 4500, and 2006 Chevrolet Kodiak C4500 and C5500 with the 6.6L Duramax.
