Cold Start Valve Hose, LB7 Duramax | 2001-2004
This molded cold start valve hose from Merchant Automotive is for the 6.6L Duramax LB7. It is built for diesel fuel and connects the fuel distribution block to the fuel test port, also called the cold start valve or service valve. The factory rubber hose is a common one to harden and crack on LB7 trucks, which can cause fuel seepage and let air into the fuel system. This hose replaces GM 97230321 and installs in the factory location.
Key Features
- Molded hose that replaces GM 97230321
- Built for diesel fuel
- Connects the fuel distribution block to the test port
- Molded to the factory shape for a direct-fit install
- Sold individually; one required per engine
Benefits
An aged cold start valve hose can seep diesel and pull air into the low-pressure fuel system, which leads to hard starts and a fuel smell under the hood. Replacing it when it's worn or damaged, or any time the fuel system is serviced, takes care of one of the original rubber hoses on the LB7. Replace if worn or damaged. Commonly replaced at the same time: Fuel Test Port Service Valve O-Ring, Duramax | 2001 - 2016.
