This is the Chain for a GM NP261XHD or NP263XHD transfer case found in 2001 to 2007 GM Duramax vehicles. It connects the mainshaft to the front output shaft inside the transfer case to enable 4WD operation. This Chain only fits the XHD manual and electrical shift transfer case models. The Chain is 1.5-inches wide and has 42 links.
NOTE: A stretched, kinked or damaged chain can cause excessive noise in the transfer case as well as damage other internal components in extreme cases. If the truck is used under extreme loads such as drag racing, sled pulling, serious off roading, snow plowing, etc... and the transfer case is making some noise you may have a stretched or damaged chain.
