Exhaust Manifold to Up Pipe Gasket, Duramax | 2001-2016
This GM original-equipment gasket (GM 97188685) seals the 3-bolt flange where the exhaust manifold meets the up pipe on 2001-2016 6.6L Duramax engines. It covers every generation from the LB7 through the LML, plus the LGH in the Express and Savana vans. A good seal at this joint keeps exhaust pressure going to the turbocharger instead of escaping into the engine bay.
Key Features

Benefits
A failed gasket at the manifold-to-up pipe joint lets exhaust escape before it reaches the turbo. It typically shows up as a ticking noise on cold start that quiets as the engine warms, and black soot around the flange. Lost exhaust pressure also slows turbo spool. Replace this gasket any time the up pipes or exhaust manifolds come off for turbo, injector or manifold work. Reusing a compressed gasket is a common cause of a repeat leak.
Fitment
