ACDelco 15-5378 A/C Orifice Tube, Duramax | 2001 - 2010

The ACDelco 15-5378 A/C orifice tube (GM 03096068) is the original-equipment fixed orifice in the A/C line at the evaporator inlet. It fits 2001-2007 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500 trucks with the 6.6L LB7, LLY or LBZ Duramax, including the 2007 Classic. It separates the high- and low-pressure sides of the system and meters liquid refrigerant into the evaporator, creating the pressure drop that lets the refrigerant absorb heat. Its inlet screen also catches debris. A plugged or restricted orifice tube causes poor cooling, frosted lines and high system pressures. Replace it any time the A/C system is opened, the compressor is replaced, or debris is found in the system.
