This is the large Mode Fork for a GM NP261HD, NP263HD NP261XHD or NP263XHD transfer case found in 2001 to 2007 GM Duramax vehicles as well as some 1998-2007 GM half ton trucks and SUVs. The Mode Fork is used for the selection of 2WD or 4WD modes in conjunction with the Mode Slider. Carefully inspect both the Mode Fork and the Mode Slider for any wear or damage and replace both parts if damage is noted. Click here to view the Mode Slider. Note that a worn Mode Fork can cause the transfer case to not stay in the selected gear.
