While Eric Merchant will be a rookie at the 2018 Ultimate Callout Challenge, he certainly is no rookie in the world of diesel performance and diesel motorsports. Merchant is especially well known to Duramax enthusiasts who turn to his shop Merchant Automotive for maintenance and performance items for their trucks. He is widely accepted as an expert when it comes to the ins and outs of the Duramax engine and Allison transmission.
Once again Merchant is about to put Blue under the knife to undergo another drastic transformation into a UCC fighting machine capable of running with the top trucks in the country on the chassis dyno, drag strip and its home the pull track. He will be depending on his hard working team at Merchant Automotive as well as assistance from the fuel delivery experts at S&S Diesel Motorsport to turn up the wick on his bright blue Duramax powered machine.
What is the Ultimate Callout Challenge?
The Ultimate Callout Challenge is exactly that, a callout challenge. For the last two years the event has called out the best of the best. No voting, no application process, just the top competitors in the diesel truck motor-sports. This event is all about the power, talent and innovation of the diesel industry.
The main draw of the event, and the reason for its name, is the three-day diesel showdown that’ll be happening on the track. The biggest names in the industry have been invited to come to an all-out, no-holds-barred competition to see just who has the biggest, baddest diesel around. With one day each dedicated to the dyno, drag race, and sled pull.
The scoring system is based off of a points system. Each event is worth up to 1000 points. Whoever has the most points at the end wins.
