Just what I needed..., August 27, 2019  By Anonymous (MESA, AZ)(Verified)
For a long time, my '09 LBZ has been fine towing whatever I could throw at it. But recently, she's been running a little bit hotter than usual and I wanted to add some fluid capacity to hedge my bets against those hot hill pulls. This kit was just what the doctor ordered, without breaking the bank. As it turned-out, the 3 gallons of fluid was a perfect amount to put the fluid on in the "hot" range on the dipstick (was running about 160F when checked). The only thing I wish I'd done is purchased an additional gallon to keep on-hand for top-off. My ole Allison seems to use about a quart every 20K or so.
Upgraded Allison at fluid change., April 24, 2019  By Kevin (Midland, TX)(Verified)
Was about to change fluid and filter again when I came across your package that included a larger capacity pan so decided to upgrade our Allison in our 2005 GMC 2500 HD. High quality pan and fluid, everything fit correct including drop filter hold in bracket. The GMC is 14 years old but has 122,000 miles on it. We use it for any personal hauling needs, occasional road trips and to pull our RV. Anxious to see if the added capacity helps keep it cooler when pulling mountain passes.
I suggest you add a note to purchasers at time of purchase that kit does not include a pan gasket. I missed this when ordering so the local auto supply got the extra sale instead of MA.
Suggestion 2 would be to include Allison pan and valve body torque specs with kit so user doesn't have to look them up.
My adult son was checking up on me while I changed it out and was equally impressed with the clean original looking appearance after the deeper pan was added.
Pleased I decided to try your kit.
Great deal on a wise investment for an expensive rig, August 10, 2018  By Justin (Mount Clemens, MI)(Verified)
This is a great improvement for anyone's rig. The additional 3.5 (3.2?) quarts of fluid capacity being added to the transmission is ideal, providing cooler operating temps, and that extra layer of protection. The deep filter lock is a great little add-on to alleviate any worry of the pan filter popping off over time. I also performed a TransGo Jr. installation during this, along with flushing the cooler lines and trans and switching over to Allison Transynd fluid (6 gallons required for this procedure). Be sure to take your time torquing the pan bolts in a few passes, and always working in a criss-cross/star pattern to avoid cracking, warping, or creating a sealing issue between the pan and the transmission.

Deep Trans Pan, April 17, 2018  By Anthony (Willow Park, TX)
I am glad I added this at my last trans service. Trans temps dropped 30* driveing from DFW to Tucson in the heat of the day. Cooler trans operation equals less $$$$ on repairs!
Perfect Kit!, April 17, 2018  By Matthew (Niagara Falls, MI)
Perfect lit! I use my truck for towing my enclosed car hauler. I have over 500 000km on my 04. I have always been on top of the maintenance of my truck with filter and oil changes. I know some say the internal filter does not have to be changed until an overhaul, but for my piece of mind, I wanted to do it. While I removed the pan, I was able to put a larger capacity one on which will now hopefully help keep things a little cooler with the extra fluid capacity. One kit, everything to do it all proper!
